I have arrived at a form of spec so would now like help achieving an outcome. Much, but not quite, as I posted here.
can we call it a Talking Termostat?
and those are two separate tasks: the talking part and the termostat part.
for the talking I would use the DFPlayer mp3 player recommended by PaulRB.
the termostat part is a temperature sensor and a relay.
In my project I use Seeed Grove components. I have a temperature sensor module with termistor NCP18WF104F03RC.
The clue is in the language, "dreamt up". Nowhere have I said, "I have made".
But the phrase:-
which we have tested and proved he can both 'see' and use.
Implies to me that you have.
Given your insistence that you have not made it what have you done to test this?

I have no desire or intention of raining on your parade so I would appreciate some human reciprocation.
For what it is worth, clearly of importance to some, I have 'tested' parts of my concept on Ken. I made a simple box with the two switches proposed mounted on it.
I lit the red led and asked him to 'see' it and press it. I then did the same with the blue. He coped just fine.
Then I used a momentary switch to 'flash' each LED and asked what was happening. He identified both were flashing.

I find your attitude offensive, even for a Yorkshire man. Robin was trying to help you and yet you attacked him for misunderstanding your sloppy use of English. I was pointing out to you just how sloppy it was. I know with you being from Yorkshire, that English is not your first language but you can do better than that.
