I am doing a few projects to better my understanding of arduino and what I can do with it in general. One idea I had was just to make a basic motor to move a fan back and forth on the same line. The problem is I really don't have a good idea on where to begin when it comes to motors or the best kind to use for that. If anyone knows any really good tutorials for that or kits I don't have a problem spending a bit of money to test things out. I already have an Arduino Uno starter kit. (Would the small DC motor that came with it be good? It has no track or anything that moves it along though.)
One of many options is to use the motor to rotate a screwed rod (available from many hardware shops) so that a nut will move along it.
