Hi all,
I'm outputting midi from the Arduino, and looking for a simple single-chip solution to synthesize it (as General-MIDI/GM). I found http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/devices.asp?family_id=618 from Atmel. The ATSAM2193 looks very promising, general midi --> ATSAM2193 --> stereo DAC --> audio out.
Does anyone have any experience with these chips or others? which external DAC should be used? what if I need at least 8 notes to be played simultaneously?
