Single phase brushless motoror to 3phase controller

Hi there,

I have a DC brushless motor (single phase) that I want to plug with my EM-206 Brushless DC motor controller

Here the controller : Electromen :: EM-206 BRUSHLESS MOTOR CONTROLLER 12-36V 10A

I'm using an external power supply for the controller.
I want to control the speed with an arduino.

My question is : Can I plug a single phase motor to three phase controller ?
Should I use all the command cables of the motor or a potentiometer is enough ?

Single phase motor?
Shouldn't you just connect it to power, and it runs? Sounds like it has the control electronics built in.
