Sky Q remote control of projects

Hi
some years ago I built an Arduino control to switch and dim my LED strips with my Sky remote coloured buttons.

I have just upgraded to SKY Q. and the simple program for detecting the transmitted ( in Arduino examples ) hex codes does not work any more yet it is fine with any other control unit.

Does the new Sky Q work differently ? has any one else tried this ?

My Sky Q is paired with my tv ( volume and off ) and these codes appear normally, but no numbers or more importantly to me the coloured button's show no hex codes. Any thoughts welcome.

Doesn't Sky Q use Bluetooth as its command medium as opposed to Sky's traditional IR? No longer needs line of sight between controller and box.

I have been frustrated by some of Sky Q's problems, such as having to confirm delete of every programme individually, and wondered if an arduino app could help, but it looks perilous difficult.
