Sleep Mode on ESP8266 but CPU keep running

Hi falks. I have searched for a good scetch to run the ESP8266 in sleep mode. I could not find anything.

Note: I have a cheap Chinese ESP 12E

Normally, it consumes arround 70mA. When I try this code here:

WiFi.mode(WIFI_OFF);
WiFi.forceSleepBegin();

The Wifi turns off, and the current consumtion is arround 40mA.

It is still too high. My Problem ist, that the GPIO Pins have to run. The A0 pin (measuring LDR) have to run too. I have read that there is a DEEP SLEEP mode, but this could turn off the GPIOs too.

Does anyone has a good solution for saving as much current as possible without turning off the GPIOS and A0 Pins ?

Greetings from Germany.

Take a look at this link on sleep modes.

As I said, Deep Sleep is not an option for me, because the GPIOS have to run anyway
