Hello, I have been using the HC06 bluetooth module to communicate between my phone and the arduino uno. I am making a bluetooth controlled rc car and am ready to move onto the project's next step. I want to consolidate all the components onto a PCB. I am using an ATTINY45 and a small H-Bridge chip. However, the HC06 is large compared to these components. Is there something similar to the HC06 that is small? Basically, a small bluetooth serial connection.
I think the HC-06 is about as small as you can commonly get but, since you are making up a PCB, it would make more sense, and save a little bit of space, to use a bare HC-05 or HM-10. That would be about 20%. I would have thought the HM-10 was a rather better proposition for an RC car anyway.
Thank you! So, for a bare version of the HC06 or HM10, How do I use it? Like, once I figure out the pinouts, are the connections the same?
More or less. The breakout board gives you an LED and level shifters for power. Check the data sheets. You may not need a LED. I have never seen a bare HC-06, only HC-05s.
