Another update: so I tried the servo motor again. I was convinced I did something wrong so I tried again. I kept going around and they all pretty much did the same thing with the same wiring so I took the risk. Aaaaaaand it worked! The sweep and knob worked pretty fine actually. That actually got me pretty confident but also taught me to double check my wiring at all times, even if its simple wiring. In any case, I'm quite happy
