I am currently completing my studies at Rotterdam Business School. I am conducting research into the digital behaviour of engineers & the role of social media.
This survey is designed to gain insight into your digital behaviourism, more specifically:
(1) Internet preferences
(2) Social Media patterns
(3) Professional usage of digital(online) medium(s).
The survey contains a variety of questions about your daily online activities, strictly in a fashion which makes us understand a pattern, without giving out any personal information about yourself.
The following questionnaire will require approximately 15 minutes to complete.
I highly appreciate it if you would take some of your time to fill in the survey. Thank you in advance.
Ah, me, too. I'm not selecting from a huge list of times to say when I do what. This feels too much like work.
Poorly worded questions. Asking which device I prefer to use to connect to the internet, then parenthetically telling me that I must choose the device I actually use more often? Bad. What I would prefer to use and what I actually use more are two different devices.
Well, I went through the whole thing, based on my pre-retirement occupation.
I noticed two main problems:
Failure to include email and forums as forms of social media.
Failure to notice the differences between "internal" networking (sometimes called intra-nets) and the greater Internet.
(for example, at work I would spend all day "on-line" on the internal network, including using various forms of internal social networking. But much less time on the external network.)
