Does anyone know of any (USA) sources and part numbers for the sockets and pin headers (etc.) that I would need to build my own shields?
Any help would be appreciated.
I don't know why you would specifically look for a USA source for this sort of stuff but, as it happens, this is the best place for long-pin headers I know. Maybe the only place.
