SOIC same as SO and SOP?

I read on wiki that SOIC is also called SO:

But on this spec sheet, SOIC and SO seem to mean two different packaging options.

Click next to "more info". On page 5 towards the bottom. Maybe they meant SOP?

I can't find the exact package drawing. Even digikey only provided the same spec sheet dipmicro did so there is no packaging drawing.

Now after reading this, I think SOIC==SO==SOP. Am I right?

TI's SOIC is larger than SOP which is larger than TSSOP.
Scroll down to "CAD/CAE Symbols"

PDIP = .1" pin spacing
SOIC = .05"
TSSOP = .025"

Their "SOP" is a wide SOIC; same pin spacing but a wider package. As well, this particular TSSOP also has a wider package than a typical TSSOP.

Thanks guys! So besides TI, do other manufactures also have different SOP and SOIC foot prints?

The eagle 40xx library part 4050 adds to the confusion. It says SO16 and in details Small outline package. But the footprint looks like SOIC. Why the SOP? Lower height?

Thanks guys! So besides TI, do other manufactures also have different SOP and SOIC foot prints?

Many manufacturer's ICs
come in different sizes (packages).
The main thing to look at is
pin spacing, etc.
