SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR Connections

Hello,

I brought soil moisture. Please see the figure.

How do I use this sensor ?
1.) Do I need to solder three wires
2.) Is it possible to use two terminals

Also I saw one project, they used one module in between sensor and the programmer. Is it possible to use this sensor without having that unit.

Is anyone having datasheet of this...I couldn't find any specification sheet in internet.

I'd guess that the the two pin connector allows direct access to the sensor, while the three wire connector adds the resistor(s) required to provide a voltage on the output pin, to be routed directly to an analog input pin.

That will quickly corrode away if you leave it in the soil. FYI.
