Soil moisture sensor that can withstand water

Hello, I have bought this sensor:

But because I will put the sensor on a field with water, and in order to protect the elements, from the water, I want to know if there is something... a glue, something in order to make the sensor's electronic elements withstand the water.

I dip mine in a polyurethane paint.

I also read about plastic paint.. Does this work?

tl;dr: a cheap plastic ziploc bag (or similar) would do!
