Solder a second USB-B female connector to an Arduino Uno shield

I'm trying to solder a USB-B female port to my prototype board connected to Arduino Uno. This is convenient to add a switch to turn the usb power on and off. Should I just connect the VCC from USB to the 5V Arduino pin and the USB ground to the Arduino ground pin? Is there any circuit between the USB power and the 5V/Ground on Arduino except for the reset fuse? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Yes that will work.

The Arduino schematic does have some circuitry there but for just plain 5V power you can ignore it.

adding a switch could be more convenient if you dont want to keep plugging and unplugging.and you could just connect it
