Solenoid Valves

I am looking for a variable solenoid valve. I have worked with a normal on/off solenoid valve and a relay but I couldn't find a variable one which opens or closes proportionally with the power provided.

I was basically looking to control the flow of my filter for my fish tank as it causes it to overflow if I don't adjust the valves correctly so I was thinking that it would be best if I could get a variable one which doesn't turn on and off continuously to maintain the level of the water.

And if you did find one, how would you vary the power?

Solenoid valves are not suitable for proportional control. You need a gate valve operated by a servo. Off the shelf ones would probably be expensive so might have to make your own using a manual valve mechanically linked to a suitable servo.

The advanced ProControl™ Servoid Series delivers extremely precise control and high output flow settings, and has become a standard in critical care patient ventilation equipment.

Don't expect these to be cheap.

Maybe a linear actuator will work for you.

If you don't adjust the proportional valve correctly it will still overflow.
So exactly how were you planning to correctly adjust the proportional valve?

I am trying to find how to proportionally control this motor which is rated 220V by using a relay, I was thinking about using the normal relay but there is this system in my house that the water levels can vary in the tank, so what I wanted was a variable relay which could be used with the motor to control the motor's output.

What does proportional mean in your application? What do you mean by variable relay?

How is the motor related to your water levels? If you expect help, you need to stop with the secrets.

Assuming it is a 50/60Hz AC motor, you have two options: on/off at intervals using a solid state relay, or a VFD.
