Just wondering if anyone can help with some Solenoids.
I've only used arduino with LEDs before so I'm very new to this - but I've been told Solenoids could be the answer to what I'm trying to do (make an array of pins that move up and down at different times)
Would these Solenoids work with an arduino board - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-5V-6V-MINATURE-SOLENOID-SMALL-BUT-STRONG-fba20a-/400232759504?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item5d2fbb40d0#ht_1507wt_1270
And if so how do I connect them?
Connect them like a motor
They will be in one of two positions, in or out. I assume that is what you want.
Hi, How fast do these have to move or change? The seller says they stay pulled in after power is removed. Want that?
How long will any one solenoid be on? What % of the time. Heating effects in the solenoid may be a problem but these are low power: .6 watts maybe??
You could drive these with chips like these, or get the driver board for 4 channels for $2
