Got it. I actually had the idea of vacuum energy earlier this year but I didn't know the word for it. I asked my physics teacher if the "quantum foam" was everywhere (including to where the matter from the big bang had not yet reached), he said no. What I really meant to ask was if deltaTdeltaE >= hbar applied even where there was no matter, but I guess the answer is yes!
