[SOLVED] attiny85 board not connecting to PC correctly

so I have purchased some attiny boards.

here is an ebay link to what i purchased.

when i plug them into the pc, i hear the system sound that you normally hear when plugging in anything usb.

then a few seconds later i hear the system sound that indicates that a usb device has been unplugged.

this cycle of connect and disconnect sounds from my PC repeat as long as the board is plugged in.

I purchased 5 boards and they all do the same thing.

i have tried two different cables and one is brand new.

this happens with both my laptop and desktop.

would this indicate i have the wrong driver?

i have installed the drivers here that are reccommended by a couple different tutorials:

any ideas what might be causing this behavior or what im doing wrong?

i either solved the problem /found a work around for this board to except a sketch if anyone else is having issues. i found this post with someone having issues with a LilyTiny board and following the instructions in this topic works.

not sure why a tutorial for a LilyTiny works for a attiny85 board but it does!

They are essentially the same for the purpose of uploading.

Simply wait for the message in the IDE and then plug it in.

Always been that way.
