[Solved] Can't upload code to Arduino. What Arduino do I have?

I am completely new to Arduino and can't get it working. When I try to upload my code to the Arduino I only get an error message. I can only choose one port so I guess that's the right one. I think that I have an Uno so that's what I've chosen as board ("Arduino/genuino Uno"), but I'm not completely sure about that either. The code is supposed to make the motor turn, but as I can't upload it I don't know if it's working or not. I don't know if I've connected the parts correctly either.

It's really difficult to find easy information and tutorials for newbies as me so I'm mostly guessing when I try to make it work. Can anyone please help me to understand and does anyone have any good suggestion on sites or tutorials for dummies where I can learn how my Arduino works.

Also, I don't know how to upload pictures here so I put them up on Instagram instead xD

Thank you!!

This is the error message:

avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

If you start the IDE without the Arduino connected, does the com port disappear from the tools menu?

If not, it's not the Arduino.

Next step would be to check device manager (or its Linux/Mac equivalent) and see what happens when you connect the Arduino.

PS
Post a link to the stuff that you bought.

Hello,

According to your photo, it should be an Arduino UNO

It's still there if I unplug it... I guess that means that my computer (a mac) can't find it at all? I don't know where the Arduino is bought but I posted a link to a picture of it. It looks like this one Geekcreit® UNOR3 ATmega328P Utvecklingskort Ingen kabel Geekcreit för Arduino - produkter som fungerar med officiella Arduino-kort Försäljning - Banggood Sverige-arrival notice-arrival notice

How to fix Arduino serial port bug on MAC OS

Looks like an Uno. But it does not have the 16U2 USB-to-TTL chip of the original so it's a clone.

You probably need to install the drivers. Link posted above might help; I don't have a Mac so can't help with that.

Driver for CH340G.
Maybe this: How To Use Arduino Nano Mini Pro With CH340G On Mac Osx Yosemite
Even this is for nano it should work for UNO also. USB/serial chip is the same.

Thanks, I'm going to try if it works.
