I am looking for a lcd display that has a touchscreen. I came across this display:
LCD
Can anyone tell me if it has touchscreen, since the description dosn’t mention anything.
[Update]My friend also has this display, how would he check if it has touchscreen?
Well, I'm not going off to some link posted by a recent signup(because we see lots of bogus links), but in general I'd suggest that a touch-enabled screen would be much more expensive than one that isn't touch, so do some comparison shopping. But then, thinking about it, if I wanted to sell something but didn't talk about one of it's most important features, should I really be in business? So the odds that it's a touch screen are pretty low, unless the info is there and you missed it.
I will also attach some photos, but thanks for the advice.
Well, I got confused because it comes with a pen, and I thought that is used for the touchscreen. ( I don’t really know since I am a begginer trying to do a small project and that’s why I am asking).
Did it come with a disc too?
I don't think so, but I am waiting for my friend to confirm, but I just saw that you crossed the answer that it doesn't and said it does have a touchscreen. So am I safe to get this then and start my project
?
No, ask your friend for the disc that comes with it. It has a datasheet.
You should really start with the manual before making a forum post.
Well it looks to me that there is a touch screen on top of that display. Those wires coming from a top layer of the screen are a dead giveaway.
I agree with Grumpy Mike. Those 4 flexi-board tracks coming off the top of the LCD suggest that the display has a resistive touch screen fitted.
There's an Arduino UNO project here:
https://create.arduino.cc/projecthub/calogerus/arduino-uno-2-4-tft-lcd-display-shield-touch-panel-ili9341-576b1b?ref=tag&ref_id=touchscreen&offset=1
that may or may not give you some clues as to how to detect the coordinates of a "touch".
What does the documentation you got with your display say?
Do you know which display controller chip your display uses?
It doesn't have one, at least without googling a bit for it....
Well, it was as easy as taking a code from google and uploading it to my friend's arduino and the touchscreen is there, but thanks for all the advice, maybe others that have the same question can still learn from this post.
You should start there next time.
