[SOLVED] Ethernet shield pin outs

Hi all,

I've recently bought an Ethernet Shield for my Arduino Uno R3. It's a clone but compatible with my original Uno. I'm trying to drive the shield using hookup wires so it is not attached to the Uno. I read everywhere that this kind of shields use digital ports 10, 11, 12 and 13 but if I connect the two boards together using these ports by wires (and 5V, GND as well) the WebClient example code shipped with Arduino IDE does not work. I tried connecting the ICSP headers together as well but still no luck. Which ports are used actually? Using which ports should I connect them together?

You might ask why would I not just simply put the Ethernet shield on the top of my UNO? Because I'm not going to use an Arduino board in my product but I'll make my own circuit with an ATtmega328.

Thanks in advance!

You need to connect the SPI interface(SPI: 10 (SS), 11 (MOSI), 12 (MISO), 13 (SCK). and Power(5V and GND) See this http://www.instructables.com/id/Arduino-Nano-with-Ethernet-Shield/

Awesome, it works now. Thanks!
