[SOLVED} MOSFET continuously conducts

I suspect it may have been the Philbrick K2-W. During WWII, they
continued to use a mechanical analog computers for fire control.
The ones the US navy used were considered the best in the world.
It was only in recent times that these have been replaced by digital
computers.
One of the big problems was that most opamps had DC offset.
To compensate for this, they created what was called chopper
stabilized amplifiers. These were mechanical vibrating relays that
would create an AC signal through the amplifier and convert it back
to a DC at the output.
A German engineer solved the problem. He used it on what we called
the V2 rocket during WWII ( actualy the A4 ). If you do a search, there
is an interesting article on it. He used balanced mixers or sometimes
called multipliers, in place of choppers.
The integrator is the key to analog computing. If one has a linear
differential equation, one can convert it to a feedback integral equation.
This can then be connected together as a circuit. The integrator is
basically an input controlled constant current feeding a capacitor.
Techtronix's famous oscilloscope sweep generator was just a constant
current generator feeding a capacitor.
It is interesting how this all ties together.
