[SOLVED] ublox NEO 6M does not respond with useful data and seems to reset...

My neo 6m board does not search for satelites anymore but only sends the same recurring probably meaningless sequence:

I am thinking this could be an antenna problem

Sounds more like a wiring or software problem. Both are completely unknown to us, so we're unable to help you further. Did you really read the sticky post at the top of the topic?

It can not be a software problem, because there is virtually no software. Wiring is also unlikely to be the cause of the problem since the module communicates over UART which is easy to wire up to the arduino.

I asked the question on this forum since it seems to be way more active than the specific ublox forum and I hoped to find help here since the neo 6m seems to be a pretty popular module for positioning in the arduino scene.

Hello ...
Okay !

Send your code here, and which library you are using?

You can also use a USB to TTL converter module (like: ch340g or cp2120 or ...)
with the u-center program from u-blox company and test your module with this program.
(this link: u-center) ---> also there is a user guide for this prog.

Looks more like a power supply issue, which despite what you think, can be a wiring problem.

Did you buy the Ublox GPS from a trusted source ?

To get the output above, I did not use code to eliminate errors.

I bought it from eBay and it is probably fake but it worked before.

I originally hooked it up to 3.3V since the NEO 6M uses 3.3v but on the board there is a voltage divider so it worked when using 5V again.
Thank you for your help. I am sorry for posting a question on this forum when the solution was so simple.
