SOLVED :Uno R3

Can someone please offer some input, whenever I plug something into the GND ground on my Uno R3 it goes dead. Doesn't matter if I am getting power from USB or 9v. if I am plugged into the USB with no jumpers being used I get power and the blink program to work. As soon as I go to do a project and I use a jumper on either of the GND sockets it all goes dead. Can this be fixed or do I need a new Arduino R3?

Sound like YOU are shorting the arduino power to the GND pin, please post a picture of the wiring where the power goes dead (don't plug it in, I just want to soo your wiring)

I can send pictures later tonight, I am still at work. thanks for replying.

Problem solved, thank you, I did have a 5v going to GND.
