Some opinions on Xbee

Since I can not find a solution to my APC220 problems I decide to use the Xbee solution. However I am a little bit confused even though I read a lot.

1) I read in datasheet for Xbee that it's got one range for indoor and one for outdoors. However in my case I want to communicate from an Arduino to a PC in a range of 450 meters through several walls. Will Xbee Pro do my job?

2) Is Xbee pro with the black wire Antenna ok?

3) What's the difference between the 802.15.4 and the other Xbee pro?

1) I read in datasheet for Xbee that it's got one range for indoor and one for outdoors.

It has one range. That range can be restricted by walls and other obstructions. If you have a large enough building, the range will be the same inside as outside.

Will Xbee Pro do my job?

With adequate power, yes. How much power depends on how many walls, of what material and thickness. Two sheetrock over wood stud walls? No problem. 27 lead walls 14 meters thick? No way.

2) Is Xbee pro with the black wire Antenna ok?

In what sense?

3) What's the difference between the 802.15.4 and the other Xbee pro?

802.15.4 is the spec that defines how the XBees communicate. It is not a type.
