Does anyone know where to get the stacking headers that Adafruit Industries has on backorder? I looked at all my normal sources, but no love.

Thanks a bunch. Multiple sources is always for the good.
The adafruit headers were only 8 pin anyway, it's no fun to try cutting those female headers especially when you don't have spares.

Never had a problem cutting down the larger ones (besides the wasted pin). Grip the larger side with a vice or locking pliers, make a good score line across the header on both sides with a sharp knife, and snap cleanly with a second pliers. With the knife, I like to whittle down the rough edges a bit, but that's just aesthetics.
See, pliers, vise, sharp knife, scoring, snapping (while praying), WHITTLING...all things I consider "not fun" on electronic components.
Fun: open bag, place component in hole, solder.

You sound like a whiny software programmer. Real hardware guys use their tools and cut their headers to size. Saves money too.

I'm with macegr. Cutting shit to size is for when you screwed up and didn't buy the right size in the first place. I know equal numbers of six and eight pin headers are required going in, so I might as well get it right the first time!
Oh are you calling me out, Lefty? You wanna browse my Flickr stream and call me a whiny software guy again? Garrett Mace | Flickr

Cool pics, maybe there is hope for you after all. Still, bitching about having to cut down headers, hell in my youth we had to make our own Fahnestock clips (how old is that
Oh, and get off my lawn ;D

One of these days I'll scoff at some kids complaining about their projects..."Why, in my day you had to look through catalogs and order parts! None of this fancy 3D holotronics desktop fabricator tomfoolery! A new device in 20 seconds? Bah, try several DAYS!"
Nice post count BTW.
