Sparkfun Pro Micro and EasyTransfer?

Hi all,

I'm using a Sparkfun Pro Micro to power a handheld controller for my model railroad, which is supposed to send data to an XBee via the serial port on pins 1 (RX) and 0 (TX). The data in question is being stored in a struct, and sent using Bill Porter's EasyTransfer library.

However, as far as I can tell, the Pro Micro is not actually sending data out of the serial port. The RX and TX lights do not flash when the Pro Micro should be sending data, and nothing is received on the other Arduino.

I have seen some other posts reporting a possible issue with the Sparkfun Pro Micro and the EasyTransfer library - apparently the EasyTransfer library may not work with the Sparkfun Pro Micro.

Does anyone know if this is the case and if so, is there a software workaround?

Cheers, Tbdanny

I'd be concerned about the adequacy of the power supply.

The power supply is a fully-charged 9V battery, connected to the RAW pin of the Pro Micro via a toggle switch. I meant the Pro Micro is the ‘brains’ of the controller.
