Speed sensor

Hi;
I want to share with you the development of a speed sensor based on a reed switch which I've developed with Fritzing.
The sensor will be mounted to the fork of the bike, but I have not yet clear how. Do you have any idea? I could add holes in it to fasten it easily on the bike.

The sensor will be connected to an LCD Shield DFRobot and I thought about using an audio cable to make the connection. What do you think?
