Hi there, i new to arduino and need to make a speed trap project, i have a uno board, but have no idea where to start. if anyone have any spare time to give me some help, with any circuit diagrams and program coding it would be great apreciated. I need to be able measure the speed in MPH between two point on a school running track. I also have 2 adafruit LED Matrix 16x32 which i would like to link together to make a 32x64 screen.

What are you using to detect start and finish?
Do you have any electronics knowledge?

How are you going to physically arrange the dot matrix to get 32x64 from 2 off 16x32?
You can do 16 x 64 or 32 x 32.
The reflective sensor system, probably best to use IR units as the are not affected by ambient light, how wide is the track sections you will have the gates in?

Sorry i meant 32x32 arrangement for the dot matrix, IRs will work fine.
