Spinning servo before uploading

Hello all, I am very new to arduino and have a senior design project called self reconfiguring modular robot like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-reconfiguring_modular_robot

But when I made the proper connections even there is no arduino ide loaded on my pc, I can hear that there is a clicking voice coming from Parallax branded servo. Anyone having a relevant problem please can share opinions and advices?




I ain't got any experience with servo motors. But if you wire the servo to the arduino board, the motor gets probably VCC and GND from the board. The port for the signal connection should be undefined if you don't flashed them before.

I wouldn't be in panic yet :)
