Hope this is the right forum for this question.....
I'm building a home automation system using a 2560, looking for permanent wiring solution. Ideally something with screw terminals.
Not sure if this maters, but I'm also using an Ether shield.
Is there are screw terminal shield for the Mega2560?
What you have to come to terms with is that, apart from the obvious, like Ethernet or GPRS, nobody makes a shield the way you want it. This means that making your own is worth investigating. You can use standard PCB terminal blocks on a proto shield as shown, but I only needed two sets of three. Note that these terminals are at 0.2" spacing and need sensible space for cable way, so they are inclined to chew up the real estate somewhat.
Using an Ethernet shield is not really a problem but it does usually go underneath. I understand you can get extra long leg headers but I have just used ordinary long headers matching the Ethernet shield down the far end with no board..
@CrossRoads That's along the lines of what I am looking for.
I find a Mega Screw Shield, 98 screw terminals.
A Larger Screw Shield which looks like it just covers the double row of pins (22-53 and power)
But I'm not finding the medium one.
In the Mega Screw Shield options photo what's the grid used for in the second picture. A - L and 1 -15?
The medium board does not breakout the 2x18 header to any terminals, just the 2 side-of-the-board rows.
Assembled prices are $52, $36, $30, plus shipping & paypal fee, if that's what you're asking.
The 12x15 grid is prototype area for a user to wire up some extra circuitry. I'm not aware that anyone uses it, but it's there if needed.
