Stand alone: Upload using programmer

Hi

Im trying to upload a sketch to my standalone breadboard Arduino. Im using my Arduino Uno as ISP. Im am using this setup.

The Arduino IDE says Upload finished but gives this error at the same time:

avrdude: Yikes!  Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
         this check.

I double checked the connections several times?

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I tried adding a cap between Reset and GND but it just gives the same error?

What controller are you trying to program? Is it Atmega 328P?

Something wrong with wiring, check it twice. Also ISP sketch can be corrupted then reload it. And go through instructions consistently. Here is a lots about the same problem just search the forum and read.

Reuploaded the ArduinoISP to the Uno. I checked the wiring again. Im pretty sure it is correct. Here is a bad picture.

The sketch that came with the IDE wouldn’t work for me, I had to use the attached sketch. Try it and see if it works.
