Stand alone version Arduino software

Suddenly all my Arduino's (i.e. Uno R3, ATMega, Nano and MKR1000) stopt working with the stand alone version of the software. Whatever I do I can't get them to work properly. Tried different possible solution posted on the Internet, but no result so far. Finally I tried the web API of Arduino, and all Arduino's seem to work fine. Anybody have an idea what's going on?

I can upload a sketch but Arduino doesn't execute it. Using Windows 10 or Windows Vista makes no difference. Don't get any warnings or anything, just the normal routine.

Tried reinstalling Arduino, other boards, other USB cables, but te result stays the same.

Only the Web API seems to work properly.

Have you verified this occurs with File > Examples > 01.Basics > Blink?

Please do this:

  • File > Preferences > Show verbose output during: > compilation (uncheck) > upload (check) > OK
  • Sketch > Upload
  • After the upload finishes, copy and paste the full contents of the black console window as the bottom of the IDE window in a reply here USING CODE TAGS (</> button on the toolbar). You will need to scroll up to see the full output.

Well that's very strange. The upload certainly did complete successfully. I can't think of anything that would cause this problem while leaving the Arduino Web Editor still working.

Can you think of anything that changed between the time the standard IDE was working and non-working?

No, sorry. Everything was working fine till a couple of days ago. Only thing I cabn think of is Windows update.
