Standalone arduino usb programmer for mac and pc

I want to offer the possibility of upgrading my application on arduino board without the arduino IDE, just update with USB the compiled application.

Do you know if a standalone application exist ?

Thanks for your reply, the board is Arduino UNO or Mega.

I don’t know if it’s possible to upload new programs in arduino board, like a firmware upgrade of external hard drive or other things ?
