STANDARD MOTOR INTERFACE (SMI)

Hi all.
Anyone have a clue how this bus is working?
It's used for rollerblinders.

I want to connect this for my arduino project.

Best,
André

Never heard of it. How about posting a link to its datasheet or user manual?

Details are all important to getting a good answer.

Bob.

Piece of cake, just tell me what color blouse my Manager's wife had on last October and you will then have your answer.

Is there something you need to confess? How would you know the colour of her blouse?

Sorry guys.
For those who never heard aboute SMI.

This is used for Roller shutters or roller blinds. With this system, you can get the possition and angle of the blinds.
My problem is that you need to purchase an membership costing 3000$. I'm just curious of how this is working...
And make my own for my home...

If you don't actually plan to use the SMI system then I reckon life will be much simpler if you describe the features you want for your blind system and build an Arduino project to achieve that.

Moving blinds up or down, or rotating the slats is not complex.

Its a control bus system, probably packet based, probably with a discovery protocol. It will try to do a lot
of things and be quite complex.

It is very likely to be easier to buid your own rather than comply with a complex proprietry "standard" like this.

Go find if there's an open standard, use that instead?
