Starter kit no light NOTHING AT ALL

after i connected it , the light worked once, then i proceeded by uploading some code and it worked, then i decided to up my game by making a traffic light and nothing at all. so i went back to the basics and now the led wont even light up at all.

i have tried several wires, leds and resistors but nothing works. the green light on the board lights up but thats it, the light does not.

now all i want is to be able to light up the led once connected to the computer

any help would be great because i dont know what to do at all.

before buying another board i would love to figure out why this happened so i can prevent it

i selected Atmega328p(old boorloader) for the processor, and arduino nano for the board type.

LED the wrong way around?

Each hole in the row of 5 on the breadboard are connected together so it looks like you have connected both leads of the LED together

the led is the right way

omg you are right, it works now, thank you so so much, god bless you
