Starter Kit question

If i buy the advanced arduino starter kit found at Maker Shed: Official Store of Make: and Maker Faire since 2005, what projects could i make out of the box? and if i bought it would it be compatible with the kit found here Maker Shed: Official Store of Make: and Maker Faire since 2005, will it be compatible right out of the box with the other kit, or will i need some adapters?

You could make a hell of a lot of stuff...

I hope a few of those comments help you. There are so many different projects you could do. I presume you have a box of broken electronics that you can steal parts off as well!

Right, you could do many projects, but only if you know how to combine the above-mentioned parts.
As a total beginner with no experience whatsoever, I would rather go for specialized kits, like ladyada's WaveShield, or GPS logger (in addition to an Arduino, of course), or something that can give immediate results and satisfaction.

Well you can do a hell of a lot of simple projects with that kit. The other thing is that it provides you with a supply of simple components for all projects. IF you don't have any simple components (LEDs, Resistors etc) then you will need some.

Yes but as a beginner with no experience, I know from experience that unless you just want to do exactly what is done on any sample code, they are not easy to code for. As a beginner, simple commands are not so simple...

That looks good, but makershed overprices many things and their shipping is very high. By the arduino starter kit at adafruit.com. It is only 60 dollars and you can also buy other parts you need from her broad selection. Shipping is sheap too. I wouldn't recommend getting a specialty kit yet, but adafruit is a lot better than makershed and you get a lot more bang for your buck.

And to answer your question, yes you could do TONS of projects with either of those kits.
