State variables and millis help.

I never understood the logic of having a variable called currentMillis because as soon as it's assigned a value it's no longer current! (a bit of an oxymoron I think)

I like to use currentMillis for a couple of reasons.

It only requires one call to get the value (hopefully reducing program run time).

It allows several tests to be done against the same value.
