hi, may I know is it okay if I use MOSFET RFP 30N06LE to step up voltage from 5V to 12V as my LED strip require 12v to light up. Btw I used 12v battery as my power source
Yes. Here is a MOSFET driver circuit. (You can leave out the diode, since your load is non-inductive.)

If the LED current is less than or equal to 5A it's OK
If it's greater than 5A you should have a heatsink on the MOSFET.
