Stepper Motor Driver help request

I have an Anaheim Automation stepper motor Driver (MBC25081TB) and AA high torque bipolar stepper motor which I want to interface with an Arduino Controller. Before I attempt to wire it up I want to ask if anyone has experience with this driver (wiring, code) ?

I have used the Arduino Motor Shield and AFMotor library in the past but do not know if this library is compatible with the Anaheim Automation stepper motor Driver.

Thanks

Your stepper driver: http://www.anaheimautomation.com/products/stepper/stepper-driver-item.php?sID=56&serID=4&pt=i&tID=87&cID=20

The control pins accept logic (0...5V) signals. So you can connect it to the Arduino. It uses the direction and clock pulse, which is used by many other drivers. I think the AccelStepper library can supply the direction + clock signals, in the EasyDriver mode. http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/arduino/AccelStepper/

For some reason that unit calls the step input "clock". It has an enable input "on/off" and two microstepping selection inputs - consult the datasheet...

MarkT,

Thank you for your response.
I reviewed all of the AccelStepper example code and I was not able to to identify what you call “EasyDriver mode”.
Could you please elaborate ?

Jim

The "DRIVER" is for a clock and direction: http://www.airspayce.com/mikem/arduino/AccelStepper/classAccelStepper.html#a73bdecf1273d98d8c5fbcb764cabeea5

Declare the class as:

AccelStepper myStepper(AccelStepper::DRIVER, 2, 3);   // 2 is step or clock, 3 is direction

You don't have to use the AccelStepper, there are other libraries.
