stepper motor follow-spped/direction/position of optical line encoder/ir sensor

i need help for my new project- inkjet printer convert in T SHIRT PRINTER.

i am using "epson" inkjet printer for this project.in that printer have 42 volt dc bushed motor. it speed/position/direction control by rotary line encoder.who fix on motor.

i face problem that my project printer motor size is too small.or not heavy duty. it not made for carry t shirt.it warm up after- 15-20 tshirt print.

so... i want use one more extra stepper motor. who will just following "printer original motor"-speed/ direction/position..

in this artical.. person get digital signal form rotary optical encoder/sensor.and use extra small stepper motor for moving printer.

i want same kind project. get digital signal from my printer rotary optical encoder. and my stepper follow his-speed/direction/position..

soo any buddy help me.. or i ready for pay for arduino code and guidance.

    3.Adafruit Compatible Motor Control Shield (L293D Motor Driver)
    4.A3967 easy motor driver shield
