I wanted to try the stepper motor tutorial found here: http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/MotorKnob I have a ID31 stepper motor and a SN754410NE H-Bridge so I decided to make the bipolar version. I have set up the wirings according to the schematic:
The only difference is that I used a 250k potentiometer because I don't have a 10k one but I think this should not cause any problems. Power supply from the arduino +5V output is about 4.65 V and the motor is powered by an external 5 V power supply. In the code I set the step number to 48 which is the case for my motor:

However, the motor does not turn, no matter how I turn the potentiometer. The "L" and "ON" leds on the arduino are lit up. Any suggestions?
