Just wondering what would be best for a robot, for arms and leg movements. Servo or stepper motor?
You have not provided enough information about the size and weight and the forces involved.
Stepper motors are heavy, are very power-hungry and each motor needs a stepper motor driver. Also a stepper motor does not know where it is s each motor will need a limit switch and a startup routing to make the motor trigger the limit switch to establish the ZERO position for counting steps.
On the plus side, a stepper would probably give greater precision of positioning.
Most hobby robots use servos. There are probably good reasons for that. Relatively relaxed specifications, cost and ease of use spring to mind.
