Stepper Motor + TB6560 3A

Hello everyone,

Hey Guys,

I am using this Stepper Motor for my project which I am controlling with a TB6560 Driver. I am supplying the motor with this Power Supply of 24V 30W.

I am currently using this driver settings to 2.6A and 16th micro stepping. Everything is working good from the programming part, but the motor is vibrating and because of that the device placed on the motor too.

Is there an way I can reduce the motor vibrations? I knew about micro stepping which somehow reduced the vibrations from full step mode. Looking for extra suggestions.

Thanks and Regards,
Ajay

Stepper motors move in steps and there is no avoiding that.

Maybe you could use rubber mounts for the motor and/or a resilient drive connection between the motor and its load. But that may result in less precision.

A flywheel may worth considering - but then you run the risk of missing steps unless you accelerate and decelerate carefully.

Have you checked that the vibration is not due to an out-of-balance load?

Thanks. It was a problem with the load. I adjusted it correctly and now the vibrations are reduced. Although there are still some but it doesn't matter that much now..

Thanks again..

Just for my interest:

what did you mean by problem with the load?

  • did you adjust / reduce the mechanic load that was fixed to the motor axis? or
  • did you adjust the current limit of the driver (previously too high or too low?) ?

Just to give other forum readers an idea what to adjust in those cases.
