Hi,
I am building a robotic gripper with haptic feedback but am unsure whether I should use a servo motor or a stepper motor so that it is able to keep the grip but also adjust the grip according to the feedback received.
The gripper should be the size of an average hand. And I have a very limited budget.

Janelle_Theron, since you are on a budget I say keep it simple and use a servo connected to the grip by a guided spring. The spring increases the servo's range of motion once an object is grabbed, improving the accuracy of the grip strength for the given hardware.
SpaceJockey Thank you I'm not exactly sure what you mean by using a guided spring. Could you please explain a bit further?
Thank you
Janelle_Theron, it is a spring that uses a guide to make sure it stretches in a desired direction, like the springs on a car shock absorber.
