I have just bought one of these for the first time.
I notice it requires 450 mA at 5 V.
I have not got into the docs yet but am wondering if it has a sleep or low power mode.
I would like to run this off a not too big battery.

Instructables seem to have the usual problems, just want to know if my bargain is a worker.
Major problem is thet the AT command set is a large PDF and whenever i try to read it it scrolls uncontrollably to the end.
Usual solution is to print it off but i do not have enough ink for this one.
Thanks now solved.
An instructable had me setting the software serial jumpers to the wrong position.
The sleep mode seems to be exactly what i needed.
