Stopwatch with reverse switch

Hi guys!

I need to build an abrasion resistance tester at my work for motorcycle clothes. Please note that this will be my first Arduino project, but I try to learn since I start to figure out this DIY. I got programs from the web for start, and I have a UNO R3 kit (starter I think). I saw a lot of videos about stopwatch types, with the wiring and all the necessary information, so I think I'm OK with that. But, regarding to the "special" machine, we would like to control the stopwatch with 2 wires (one for start, one for stop as the common ones with buttons). One will be between the friction belt and the material, and one under the material, so we will measure the time interval between the two wire disruption, to know the quality of the riding gears.

Only the programs need to be modified for the "reversed" switch, or need something special equipment besides the starter kit?

Thank you very much for your help!
Cheers

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.

Please read the first post in any forum entitled how to use this forum.
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,148850.0.html .
Then look down to item #7 about how to post your code.
It will be formatted in a scrolling window that makes it easier to read.

Can you please post a copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?

What "reversed" switch?
What does it do?
When in the program is it supposed to operate?

Thanks..Tom..
