Hi, after long reading on the forum I have to ask a question. I couldn't find the answer here.
I tried to hook up a standard 16x2 display (hd44780) to a arduino mega. But with the "hello World" example I get a wrong display it looks like:
orld!, world!, w
15 15
The to numbers are counting (has to be only one).
The scrolling text example gives a similar view...
Anyone an idea what it could be?

You should have noticed that we almost always require a photograph and a sketch.
We need a photograph that allows us to unambiguously follow each wire from the display to the Arduino. Since your display is working you probably have your power and control signals connected properly and you most likely have your data lines connected correctly as well, but we really have to check everything.
So this points to the program. Now we need a copy and paste version of the actual sketch that you are using to produce the result in the photograph, not a reference to the sketch that you think you are using.
