Strange problem with Arduino IDE 2.0 on MacOS

I have installed the Arduino IDE 2.0 on MacOS Monterey. When start the IDE in UI mode through the Application folder, the IDE hangs. No splash screen, only the icon jumping in the dock eventually stuck with "Application not responding". However when I start the IDE in command line mode through terminal, the IDE starts just fine. Due to hang state I could not get any logs. It is very strange behavior.

I start to experience the issue in beta-9, thought it is due to beta. But seems the 2.0 GA version has the same problem. Once the IDE starts from the command line everything seems to work just fine.

Hi @erongd. In order to make all relevant information available to any who are interested in this subject, I'll share a link to your issue report on GitHub:

I provided some instructions you can follow to provide additional information over there.

I have been running the Arduino IDE on MacOS Mojave and have had no problems with Arduino Uno & Micro boards. I have also been able to program Adafruit Trinket & Pro Trinket boards again with no problem.

Today I upgraded one of my older Mac Mini's (2014 version) to Catalina and was able to successfully program the Adafruit Trinket boards and my Uno, but NOT the Micro.

So I reconnected the boards back up to the newer Mini (2018) with Mojave and confirmed they all work good.

Using Arduino 1.8.10 on both machines. Both are fresh installs.

Guess the newer Mac will stay on Mojave...
