Environment window 7, arduino duemilanove, arduino IDE 1.8.5, up to 15 days ago I could safely upload sketches on the board atmega328P-PU 8mhz.
Suddenly about 15 days ago without changing my procedure
avrdude: stk500_recv (): programmer is not responding
avrdude: stk500_getsync (): not in sync: resp = 0x03 .......
15 days of failed attempts by reading hundreds of posts, reinstalling also arduino IDE 1.8.5 (I'm not very expert but I've been using arduino for about 10 years).
Today, in desperation, I responded to an old version of the ide 0022.
Environment window 7 (I have not turned off and on again), arduino duemilanove, arduino IDE 0022, same port and identical connections, the sketch (blink) loads immediately, I verify that the blinking works.
I try to do the same thing with arduino IDE 1.8.5 and the usual error returns.

Thanks in the hope of solving the historic problem.
Given the different behavior of the two IDEs in the loading of sketches, I kindly ask if anyone explains to me what is different between the environments IDE 8.6.5 and 0022 that can justify this.
